
Specialized Training
Months: 4-6
Based on your academic degree and area of expertise, you will enter into one of three specialties—Design, Industrial or Manufacturing—to test and apply your skills and expand your capabilities under the tutelage of Tindall’s industry experts.
Design
Civil Engineers receive continued training and development from a Professional Engineer in the following areas:
- Safety
- Estimating and sales
- Concrete mix design including PCI and ACI certificates
- 3D Modeling Incorporation Design Programs
- Welding and welding inspection
- Field inspections (special inspections)
- Plant manufacturing audits
- Seismic designs per IBC and ASCE-7
- Shear wall and frame analysis and design
- Concrete member and connection designs per ACI and PCI
- Hands-on design assignments and projects
Industrial
Industrial Engineers receive continued training and development in the following areas:
- Safety and quality
- Enterprise Resource Planning System
- Work measurement and labor standards
- Routings, work plans and labor reporting
- Manufacturing processes
- 5S/other Lean Manufacturing principles
- Estimating
- Innovation and best practices
- Cost reduction and process improvement projects
Manufacturing
Building Construction and Concrete Industry Management specialists receive continued training and development in the following areas:
- Safety (OSHA 30 Hr and OSHA 10)
- 5S principles
- Company policies and procedures
- Organizational structure and job responsibility
- Peers Today, Boss Tomorrow
- Effective supervisory training (Reference: BLR)
- Manufacturing processes and procedures
- Quality Control processes and procedures
- Batch plant processes and procedures
- Support areas—maintenance, material control, steel shop and shipping
